Baking is a science. A "cup" of flour can weigh anywhere from 120g to 150g depending on how you scoop it. Using a scale and converting to grams ensures your cakes rise perfectly every time.
Not all ingredients weigh the same by volume. Our tool handles this automatically when you select the ingredient.
| Ingredient | 1 Cup (approx) |
|---|---|
| All-Purpose Flour | ~120g |
| Granulated Sugar | ~200g |
| Butter | ~227g |
| Water / Milk | ~240g |
If using cups: Fluff the flour, spoon it into the cup, and level it off. Don't pack it down! Ideally, use a scale and this converter.
It depends on the ingredient! 1 tbsp of water is 15g, but 1 tbsp of flour is only about 8-9g.
